MOU CHUK
What they say about Mou Chuk
Kate May 2012
Our family signed up 3 weeks ago and it has been a wonderful experience so far. The teachers are excellent, and the studio is very family friendly. I did a ton of research before I settled on a martial arts studio that was right for us. I even watched classes in other studios. This was far and away the best that there is to offer in North Houston! Master Park is very organized and it is obvious that she deeply cares about all of her students and instructors (all of which are very skilled!). Do some research yourself and look at Mou Chuk's website and Facebook page.

“Coming to Mou Chuk has really affected my life because I learned how to protect myself and others. I love to go bike riding with my brother and in case something was to happen, or if someone were to approach us, I would have the knowledge of how to react and keep my brother and me safe. This also makes my mom feel good knowing we can defend ourselves.”

Mou Chuk is a great school where you can learn all sorts of things, as well as learn to defend yourself in this world.

“I moved here before I came to Mou Chuk and I didn’t know anyone. I liked it when I first came. I have good friends at Mou Chuk. I have also learned all the kicks, like my two favorites, front-snap kick and round-house kick. I am glad I came.”

Mou Chuk is great because I met lots of cool friends. The instuctors are very nice and I am learning a lot in my classes. I take Taekwondo, Jujitsu and Judo. I can't wait to go to class every night!

"I joined Mou Chuk almost a year ago and I still love going. I am proud to be a part of Mou Chuk because they have taught me not just martial arts, but also to be confident in myself, develop discipline, and learn to respect others. Thank you to our MASTERS! And most importantly, I always have fun with my friends."

Mou Chuk is a family oriented traditional martial arts school. I have been studying Hapkido and TKD there since February of 2012, with my wife and daughter. It is the best school I have ever been in, and I have been involved in martial arts off and on for almost 20 years.
It is not - repeat NOT - a black belt mill. If you don't study and attend, then you don't belt test - and the belt-tests are real tests - usually several hours long. The classes are demanding but very fun! All skill levels are welcomed, and while standards are high, so is the caliber of instruction. They take you where you are at, and build from there.
In short, Mou Chuck is a great place for all ages and conditions to learn a new skill, meet nice helpful people, and get some great exercise.

“I am happy when I come to Mou Chuk. I learn a lot. I learn kicks. I have made good friends. Judo is my favorite class. If I fall off a cliff, or golf cart, I can protect myself with a breakfall. Breakfalls are fun to practice.”

Mou Chuk is a great martial arts school for families. The atmosphere and the instructors are fantastic. All of the instructors at Mou Chuk are highly skilled and love martial arts.

“I like going to Mou Chuk. Coming here has changed my life. Before I came I had Tourette’s, and kids would bully me. Since I have started studying Taekwondo and Jujitsu, my Tourette’s has gone away. Kids do not bully me anymore, and I have confidence that I can defend myself if they do.”

“At Mou Chuk I like breaking boards and belt testing. I also like learning the kicks and punching. Master Park is nice and I like how she teaches me.”

I just got back from Jujitsu class. See I’ve been fighting off a cold and fatigue and after another great class I feel rejuvenated enough to write about my success at Mou Chuk under Master Steve Johnson, Instructor Jacob Arnstein, and Grandmaster Young Mi Park. Having been training for a year and 4 months my success may not be determined by my rank as an orange belt but from other milestones. My doctor has cut my blood pressure medicine in half and eliminated one cholesterol medicine. In addition, I can now “roll” or “ground fight” for a good 6 minutes. See when I first started I could only “roll” for about 20 seconds. I know some people would have no problems with rolling for 6 minutes. I also know there are others out there like me. No matter your situation, I strongly encourage you to try a class. The masters and instructors know how to push and encourage you in safe and positive environment. Not only will you get in better shape I find that I have more focus in other areas of my life.
